Meet Sophia

Hi, my name is Sophia Willoughby Jeremiasz and I am the creator of the California Barre method. Originally from San Diego, I am a former dancer and Division 1 soccer player. I arrived in Paris in 2011 and founded the California Barre method in 2015, shocked by the lack of barre options here. I teach in exclusive hotels, gyms, and boutique studios in Paris to a clientele ranging from models and actresses to stay at home moms and elite athletes.

I am trained in Vinyasa (200hr) and Yin Yoga as well as Barre Fitness.

I have been organizing luxury retreats in Europe since 2019 and I just LOVE these weeks suspended in time with women that inspire and lift each other up.

I am a Master Teacher Trainer and have privately trained over 40 instructors across Europe and North Africa.

I strive to promote female empowerment and self-confidence through movement.

I am obsessed with what I do, and am thrilled to share my passion with you through this platform. As a mom of 2 little boys, I know what a treat (and how incredibly important) it is to take this time just for you.


The BBB program is amazing (and all of the CB classes!) and it has totally strengthened my core. After two kids and two c-sections in 2 years, my core was virtually nonexistent. I can already feel the difference with this program! I did a HIIT workout today and I could feel all the muscles that I'd worked in the CB class the day before... Thank you so much!!

J'ai commencé les cours de California Barre il y a un an avec Sophia et je ne peux plus m'en passer. Cette méthode est parfaite pour moi car pendant 1 heure on mélange cardio, stretching, et les exercises à la barre. On gaine tout son corps sans se faire mail au dos et en profondeur. On s'allonge avec des rythmes de musique différentes et ultra motivantes. Je suis fan et je le conseille à tout le monde!
